Disc Detection 1-1 Session
Service Description
A 1-1 session for Disc Detection! Held in our Siding Lane training field. If your dog is anxious about group sessions, struggles to focus, or just needs a little extra attention then this is for you. Come and learn all the basics of Disc Detection in a private venue! Suitable for complete beginners or more advanced teams. Whatever stage you're at, we'll work from. Disc Detection is a scent sport where dog and handler teams search natural or urban environments for small scented discs. Teams will learn the basics; odour recognition, indication behaviours, and drive for the search. Then comes search strategy, teamwork, and environmental awareness. It's inspired by the search mechanics used in conservation detection and open area searches, but it is designed as an accessible, recreational, and ethical dog sport. Disc Detection is accessible to pet dogs, sport dogs, working breeds, older dogs, sensitive dogs- any and all are welcome! YOU WILL NEED: -A comfortable harness -A long-line (I have spares just in case) -LOTS of treats. Something you can break into small pieces is best. Ham, chicken, and cheese are all good. You will need more treats than you think! -Water for you and your dog -Suitable footwear for mud and long grass -Waterproofs if needed- the session will go ahead unless there is a severe weather warning so come prepared!
